		<description>Hi Lois!
I had my first colonoscopy recently, when I was almost 1½ year out. I asked my
surgeon and he said there is no problem with it. We only need to be sure that
what you are supposed to drink is sugar free.
Good luck!

<description>Funny you should ask that question just now, since I just had a
colonoscopy (my second) yesterday. Since none of the wls I know of
alters the large intestine, the colonoscopy is not a problem. You do
the bowel prep the same way, and the doctors do their bit the same
 way.
Now the upper GI endoscopy is a little different for people with
surgeries that involve altering the size of the stomach. I have had
two endoscopies as well, but for those I have been very careful to
tell everyone involved that the structure of my stomach is not
normal, and that they therefore have to be very careful. With that
caveat, I've had no trouble with the endoscopies, either.
 Good luck, and don't worry!
