Breast Pain

Saturday, June 23rd, 2007

Nicole,
I had Medial RNY in July 2003 and have dropped 143 lbs. I, too,
experience the same type pain/burning in my right breast. I asked my
GYN about it the last time I was in his office. He said it’s not
unusual to have this type of pain/burning when we are dropping pounds
so fast. Something to do with hormonal inbalance caused by our body
trying to adjust to the major changes it is experiencing. He assured
me that it will go away eventually. And, for some unexplained reason,
wearing a good support bra lessens the pain and burning for many
women.
I did recently have my yearly mammogram and it showed nothing
unusual so that seems to prove my GYN’s assurrances.

When traveling between terminals …

Saturday, June 23rd, 2007

after many hours of perusing the infitinite possibilites of getting to
curitiba, it has occurred to me that many of the offerings involve different
airlines, whether they are affiliated with one another is something I would
guess is
the case. But anyway, would either airline use one of those electric trucks to
take my lumbering self and 68 year old mother to the next departure gate? Do
they do that in Sao Paulo?
ay caramba, so many questions, and this is with extreme editing!!!

question about breast pain-guys, just ignore this-sorry!

Breast pain
I have a strange question for all of you ladies out there. Tuesday, I woke
up and my left breast hurt. Just like a sharp burning pain on the side. Of
course I did a breast exam and couldn’t fine any lumps or anything and only
noticed that it really hurt in one spot. It kind of reminded me the beginning
of
mastitis. But I am not lactating so I doubt this is it. Anyway, I noticed the
next day it hurt even more. It is a sever burning or stabbing pain. Now this
is not muscular. I worked out Tuesday after first noticing the pain and
again today. Working out does not hurt it at all but I think it is because I
have
a good support bra on. Last night when I was getting out of the bath, I
bounced (sorry guys if you are reading this) and noticed that it hurt really
bad
so I put my bra back on and think that this has something to do with support.

TwinLabs Elemental Calcium Value?

Friday, June 22nd, 2007

Hi Everyone,
I’m trying to find out what the elemental Calcium value is of a new
calcium product I got today. I can’t find a phone number or website
to contact the manufacturer and wanted to get some opinions on what
you think the elemental value of this product is.

It’s the Twin Labs chewable Calcium Citrate Wafers:
4 wafters contain:
1000mg Calcium (Frommm calcium citrate tetrahydrate)
Plus D and magnesium
The bottle says calcium citrate is an ionized, soluble and chelated
form of calcium.
Also I take the Twin Labs Tri-Boron Plus and wonder the elemental
value of that product. Anyone have info on it?
Thanks everyone

I don’t know if someone already mentioned this, if so I apologize. Minite Maid
has new light juices that are YUMMY!! They are 10 calories for a 12 oz. serving,
have 2 grams of carbs and 1 gram of sugar.
I like the Guava Citrus but they also have a Passion Rasberry and a Mango
something…all really good!

Flatulence Question

Thursday, June 21st, 2007

Hello everyone,
I am new to this group and hope someone has some insight or a solution
to this problem that seems to be getting worse. I just have to put
this out there because my Dr. doesn’t seem to have a solution or maybe
she just hasn’t been in a room with me long enough to realize how
serious this is.
I had my bypass almost 5 years ago (moved out of state from my surgery
Dr.) and immediately I began to have had a bit more flatulence than
the average person. I didn’t mention it back then because it was an
occasional thing. Within the last year or so, I have changed my diet
to a low fat/high fiber diet and the problem has gotten so much
worse. Much more frequest and much more offensive.
I reluctantly stay away away from beans and suspect that I am lactose
intolerant so have switched to soy. I have tried Beano when eating
high fiber foods and Hyland’s gas relief…no great improvement. I

Light Headed<Eleanor

Flo says:
On the contrary my pressure is usually on the
low side.
I respond:
Ahhhh, but that is the issue entirely! Those of us who, even fat, had normal to
low BP, can have serious drops in our BP post-op. My surgeon and GP *prescribed*
salt for my diet… and adding salt alone, without meds, helped solve the
problem entirely.
The reason someone asked if you were on BP meds was, post-op, those on meds to
lower BP might not need the medication anymore - blood pressure heals itself
most of the time after WLS.
I don’t remember the exact wording of your original post, but if you are dizzy
when you get up from a chair, from bed, from squatting… that can definitely be
a BP thing. When you go to the doc, do whatever it is that makes you dizzy and
*then* let them take your BP.

GUESS WHAT?!
As of today I have lost exactly 100 lbs.
I started off at 469. . .now I am 369!!! Who would have ever guess I’d
ever be excited about weighing 369? lol. I will be 4 months in a few
days on the 9th and I am walking on air. I want to thank all of you
“oldtimers” for your words of encouragement. . .and sometimes for your
tough-love, it honestly makes a difference. I’m going to go outside and
sit on my rocker and enjoy this moment. Yeah. . . .life is getting better :) Windy and Loving It~
