Iron Infusion Results-Confused ;)
I need some help understanding these results. I had 1,200mgs of InFed
infused five weeks before this blood work:
Reference Range
Iron-Serum 54 Lo 60-170
TIBC-Serum 252 250-420
% Saturation 21 20-50
Ferritin 248.6 13-150
My ferritin was 10 before the infusion. I feel so much better now.
It’s amazing the difference. I was weak for over a year! CBC and
Hemeglobin were normal before infusion.
What does it mean to have low Iron-Serum and low % Saturation?? I am
looking for a new PCP. He is really no help. Thanks for your input.
