4 days after Gastric Sleeve Surgery

Hello all,
I had a gastric sleeve (or sleeve gastrectomy) performed on Thursday.
It is my 4th day, and I am feeling a little bit deppressed.
The surgery went great, I’ve had no major problems other than
intollerance to one of the painkillers the day of the surgery.
But I am feeling a little bit sad, and wondering if I made the right
decision. I keep thinking I could have lost the weight by just
dieting, even though I tried a lot and never really could. I feel
my life has drastically changed. I am on a liquid diet for this
week, and getting use to eating very small portions and very slowly.
It is not easy.
I weight 244lbs, in this 4 days I have lost 9lbs, so I am weighing
235lbs. My ideal weight is 130lbs, so I have 105lbs to go.
Everyone tells me that it was the right decision, because I am still
young (25 years old), my lifestyle is going to be healthier, and I

am going to have more energy.
Nothing has been a real surprise my surgean was very clear about the
surgery, pre and post situations and lifestyle changes. I spoke to
people who had had the surgery and was very well informed.
However, I guess I never really realized them until recently. I am
not sure I would recommend it unless is the final final final road
to take.
My family and boyfriend are behaving in the most beautiful and
wonderful way possible. They are there for my, trying to cheer me
up.
I was just wondering if it is normal feeling down after weight loss
surgery.
Sincerely,
Janeth
