This probably seems like a dumb question, but, I am wondering; When
you come home from the hospital, what do you do all day. I am
accustomed to a lot of seldentery time, in other words, I read a lot.
I have not been able to be very active for the last three years due to
my weight. I know you have to get your fluids in, but what do you do
with yourself all day. Please give me some suggestions.
I lost now 106.9 pounds since July 12, 05. After the 3rd month does it
slow down the weight loss or what? I still having a hard time getting
all my water in and if I drink it to fast or glup it hurts my tummy.
DR. S. said I can start taking Zinc but it got kinda stick but I
finally was able to get it down but afraid to try it again for awhile.
Sometimes my tummy does not like what I ate or something else I not
sure of and throw up at times.
Did anybody had any problems and what did you do?
Soups goes down best and feels good going down. I wish I can just keep
haing a little soup.
My starting weight 466.9 and now 360
I did something I could not done before yesturday I stack 2 cords of
wood for winter in our back yard. I sure notice that I am colder since
the surgery from all the weight loss. I used to run around with shorts
and sleveless top not anymore.

I will be having my surgery Nov. 17. I am 5′7″ tall and weigh 380. I
have lost twenty-five pounds and hopefully before surgery will be at
370-375. My question is; has anyone out there been able to have their
surgery through lap at this weight?

My surgery date is November 17. I find myself getting nervous as the
date approaches. What do I do now? I know I am doing the right thing,
but at the same time I know there will be a lot of changes in my life
and it is scary.
Any words of wisdom out there?

I had a ferritin of 10 before my infusion. (1,200 mgs of InFeD)
After five weeks it went up to Ferritin 248.6
After another four weeks it has dropped to 126.3. It is within the
normal range (13-150), but of course I am very concerned. It is
dropping so
fast. I do feel so much better since the infusion. I had some other
numbers that were low:
RBC 3.93
HCT 35.7
MPV 6.8
My B12 was fine at 915. My PLT CNT was 357.
I don’t see my doctor until November. I am actually seeking a new
PCP. He is not much help. I would appreciate your help. Thanks

surgery are higher than previously thought, even among people in their 30s
and 40s.
The chances of dying within a year after obesity surgery are much higher
than previously thought, even among people in their 30s and 40s, a study of
more than 16,000 Medicare patients found.
Some previous studies of people in their 30s to their 50s - the most common
ages for obesity surgery - found death rates well under 1 percent. But among
35- to 44-year-olds in the Medicare study, more than 5 percent of men and
nearly 3 percent of women were dead within a year, and slightly higher rates
were seen in patients 45 to 54.

I need some help understanding these results. I had 1,200mgs of InFed
infused five weeks before this blood work:
Reference Range
Iron-Serum 54 Lo 60-170
TIBC-Serum 252 250-420
% Saturation 21 20-50
Ferritin 248.6 13-150
My ferritin was 10 before the infusion. I feel so much better now.
It’s amazing the difference. I was weak for over a year! CBC and
Hemeglobin were normal before infusion.
What does it mean to have low Iron-Serum and low % Saturation?? I am
looking for a new PCP. He is really no help. Thanks for your input.

Hi, Caroline:
I’m taking Neurontin for residual nerve pain as I recover from a bout
with Guillain-Barre Syndrome. I know that many people who take
Neurontin claim that it made them gain weight but I haven’t
experienced any weight gain and I take 3,000 mg daily.

I went to my doctor office and weigh myself today and I lost 13
pounds. I weigh 466.9 starting weigh and now I weigh 368.5 pounds.
My total weigh loss since the surgery July 12, 05 91.4 pounds gone!
